Middle Child Syndrome ♥ The Weekend Guide #17

The Weekend Guide #17
Happy Friday readers! Today's topic is about being a middle child. I have two sisters, one that is 3 years older then me and one that is 7 years younger then me. So yes, I am a middle child that suffers from middle child syndrome. I know I am 23 but I've dealt with this my whole life! What is MCS? Well, its basically when the middle child feels ignored, isolated and neglected from the family. The oldest is usually the "first born" so they get all the attention and then the youngest is the "baby" of the family. So what am I? The loser of the family?

I found this article that better explains what it feels like to be a middle child. I completely agree with almost every statement. I am a loner. I do tend to misbehave and argue loudly just so I can speak and release emotions that I've been holding in. But I also somethings "go with the flow" and won't say anything because I know no will listen to me (which always happens). However, my outlet is being creativity. I relieve my family stress and loneliness through arts and crafts. My getaway is creating a world which I belong in. As the most creative in my family, I am really proud of that. My youngest sister doesn't have a creative bone in her body! Yet she constantly gets praised and rewarded by my parents. Even though she's really messy, never cleans up after herself and gets bad grades. My older sister also seeks attention or approval by stating her opinions all the time (even when not asked). She even starts her sentences with "I think" or "When I was". Anyways, the main reason why I wanted to talk about this is because lately I've been letting this MCS really get to me. I just needed to vet about me family.

Are any of you fellow middle children and do you feel the same way? Is it different if you are the only female or male middle child in the family. Or are you an older/younger child and what is your opinion on this?

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen ♥ Beauty Review

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen Review
It's important to wear sunscreen EVERY SINGLE DAY however it's especially essential during summer because the sun rays are extra harsh (I talk about the sun more in this post). I was first introduced to the Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen by my oldest sister. She raved about this sunscreen lotion and told me to try it, so I did. Most western sun protection products tend to be thick, heavy and have that overpowering sunscreen scent (which I hate). However, this sunscreen lotion is absolutely nothing compared to those other sunscreens! In fact, it's completely the opposite! Keeping reading to find out why!

Product description
"Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Weightless has a unique breathable formula that feels as if it is barely on. The light, air-soft texture feels weightless on your skin, while hydrating silk ribbons provide 12 hours of luxurious moisturization, so your skin feels silky soft while being safely UVA/UVB protected."

My Experience
I honestly love using this sunscreen! It's lightweight, weightless, absorbs quickly, smells amazing, non-greasy, non-sticky, oil-free, water resistant, hydrating, moisturizing and makes your skin feels silky soft! It's basically a lotion with sunscreen mixed in and a SPF 30 that smells like summer happiness! Anytime my skin in exposed I slather this lotion all over. Afterwards, my skin feels so hydrated and silky! The container comes with a lot of product and the pump is also fun/easy to use.

Overall, it's freaking amazing! I do not have anything negative to say about this product. If you are looking for a high quantity yet affordable sunscreen I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this sunscreen lotion!

What's In My Makeup Pouch ♥ Summer Series

What's In My Summer Makeup Pouch
Last week, I showed what I carry in my purse so today I am going to unveil what I kept in my makeup pouch while I was in Mexico. Compared to last year's summer makeup bag post I carried way more beauty items this time. I did stay in Mexico 3 weeks though so I felt like I needed more options. Thankfully I did use most of the makeup that was in my bag so I was satisfied, I used at least 85%. What's in my makeup pouch? Let's find out!

What's In My Summer Makeup Pouch
Let's begin with the face, I brought the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer (which I didn't end up using at all, I used my face sunscreen as a primer instead). For concealer I used the NYX Concealer everyday, the name came off! As for foundation, I brought two cushions, my favorite Lalavesi Akma Cushion and the new Holika Holika x Gudetama Cushion. To blend in concealer I used the Etude House Secret Brush 121 Skin it's my new favorite brush!

What's In My Summer Makeup Pouch
Here is the eye makeup. I used the Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer to prep my eyes. I ended up not using the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette as much as I wanted to. I pretty much used the Etude House Bling Bling Eye stick on days when I wanted to wear eye shadow but was too lazy to take out my makeup brushes. For brows, I either used the It's Skin Babyface Natural Eyebrow or the Benefit Gimme Brow Eyebrow Gel, I went back-and-forth depending on my mood. My most worn products were my favorite Tony Moly Backstage Gel Liner, Etude House Tear Drop Liner and the L'oreal Telescopic Mascara. Not impressed with it tbh but it was the only mascara that I brought.

What's In My Summer Makeup Pouch
And finally here are all the lippies that I carried. I know soooo many lip products! However, I did end up using each lip product at least once. My most worn lip gloss was the NYX Lip Lingerie in Satin Ribbon but the Too Faced La Creme in Naked Dolly was a close second! I need to buy the full-size soon! The two that I wore the least were the Etude House Dear Daring Tint and Benefit Posie Balm.

July 2016 Birchbox ♥ Monthly Subscription

Birchbox July 2016 Unboxing
It's time for my monthly Birchbox unboxing. The theme for July is "my morning routine" so all the samples in the box are to help you get ready and out the door! The sample choice this month was mascara. Subscribers had the option to pick one of the three mascaras samples. Since I wasn't interested in any of the sample-choice mascaras I decided to pick the feature "rise and shine" box, which still came with a mascara sample. I wasn't impressed with the sample choice to be honest because I'm not a mascara junkie. However, the rise and shine contained a few items that sparked my attention. Let's take a look at what's inside the box!

Box and list overview

Birchbox July 2016 Unboxing
dr. brandt PoreDermabrasion Full-size, $58
"A boost of salicylic acid unclogs pores, caviar lime brightens, and lentil seed improves skin texture."
Tip: Should only be used twice a week.

Living Proof No Frizz Nourishing Styling Cream Full-size, $27
"This lightweight cream blocks humidity, conditions, and smooths each strand to eliminate frizz."

My hair has been getting on my nerves lately! It's probably all the humidity and heat that's causing damage to my hair. It's been really frizzy yet oily around my root/scalp area (not a good combination btw). I'm hoping this no frizz styling cream will tame my frizz.

Birchbox July 2016 Unboxing
Bonus: Living Proof No Frizz Shampoo + Conditioner Full-size, $25
"We've added in a frizz-dighting duo featuring a patented molecule that blocks humidity and keeps hair cleaner, longer."

Birchbox July 2016 Unboxing
Elizabeth It's So Big Volumizing Mascara Full-size, $15
"A single swipe of this volumizing mascara curls and thickens without clumping, smudging, or flaking."

Birchbox July 2016 Unboxing
Milk Makeup Sunshine Oil Full-size, $38
"This portable rollerball brightens, deeply hydrates, and gives skin a dewy glow thanks to seven essential oils."

Milk Makeup is a new brand I've been interested in. I'm really glad that Birchbox carries them now! I'm still not sure how I am suppose to use this product (or when) but I will be playing around with it,

Birchbox July 2016 Unboxing
Klorane Smoothing and Relaxing Patches with Soothing Cornflower Full-size, $24
"Soothing undereye patches packed with fast-acting botanicals that fade fine lines, dark circles, and puffiness."

I'm guilty of choosing featured boxes based on masks or eye gels. This was the main reason why I decided to pick this box instead of the regular Birchbox. I guess I'm just a mask junkie! I like to keep eye patches in the fridge and apply them in the morning. This helps me wake up and eliminate my dark puffy under eyes.

STRESSED!!! ♥ The Weekend Guide #16

The Weekend Guide
Stress is something that I can't seem to control. As someone who loves to be in control this is a huge concern! Lately, I feel like my problems keep stacking up and it's stressing me out even more! Now I'm not someone who likes to broadcast what's going on in my private life but maybe some of you can give me some advice on how to relax. So Let me share a couple of things that have been stressing me out.

Last weekend my older sister and I were in a car accident (don't worry we're both alright). A jerk ran into us and the right side mirror fell off and the side of the door got scratched up, on the side that I was sitting on. I am also currently babysitting a 6 year old girl. She's not your average child she never sleeps, barely eats junk food, active and would rather play with toys then on a tablet. Which, I know is healthy for a child her age but for a babysitter it's a struggle! On top of this I am eating unhealthy (because it's quicker to make unhealthy food), barely working out (because I don't have time) and silently dealing with health problems. Everything is piling up and stressing me out! I honestly feel like I'm going to erupt any minute! Any tips to unwind would be very appreciated.

Today I will be reviewing the insanely cute Holika Holika Gudetama Lazy&Easy Face 2 Change Photo Ready Cushion BB (such a ling name! lol). Product description
"This cushion BB makes #nofilter photos so easy by delivering flawless, long-lasting coverage that blurs out the appearance of pores, uneven skin tone, and dryness. It also loves on your skin with lavishing ingredients like brightening and anti-aging Niacinamide, Adenosine, and Argan Oil. And of course, it protects from UV damage with its impressive SPF 50+ PA+++, leaving your skin dewy and picture-perfect."

My Experience
So how did this cushion perform? Well the formula has a grayish undertone which oxidizes within a few minutes of application. The coverage I would say is a light (almost medium). It can cover blemishes pretty well but they're still somewhat visible. The cushion has a typical bb cream scent (if you've tried many bb creams/cushion then you should know what I mean) but it naturally fades away.

I bought the shade 23 but I found it to be a bit lighter. I always get the darker cushion shades and they fit my skin tone perfectly. However, it's not a huge problem. It's like a shade lighter  My main problem with this cushion is that it doesn't set! Throughout the day I noticed that the cushion never settled onto my face properly, which caused my hair to stick onto my face. The cushion has a dewy finish but if you have really oily skin then you might not want to get this because it gets even more dewy (almost oily) throughout the day. I have oily/combination skin and the dewiness didn't bother me as much.

What's In My Bag ♥ Summer Series

What's In My Summer Bag
It's time for a look inside my summer bag! I switch out the contents in my bag often. It all depends on where I'm going and what I'm doing so my bag swag isn't like this. Last year I also posted my summer bag and I think it's pretty funny that I carry the same stuff or similar items.

What's In My Summer Bag
My purse is a lilac pink Rebecca Minkoff Crossbody Mini Mac. It may look small but it can carry a lot! I think it's the perfect size for me because it isn't too big (I hate oversize purses) or heavy but still cute! I got it for a birthday maybe 2-3 years ago. It's my favorite purse I own. The two key chains are from Mexico.

What's In My Summer Bag
(left to right) Forever 21 Heart Shaped Sunglasses, Skinnydip London Cat-nut Coin Purse, iPhone 6 with a macaron case, Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel, Lychee Gummy Candy and headphones

These are the lifestyle items in my purse. Sunglasses, coin purse, phone headphones and some lychee gummies that I sister bought for me. She got them from Target. They're really yummy!

What's In My Summer Bag

I'm constantly switching out.the makeup in my bag depending on what makeup I'm wearing. This is what makeup products that were in my purse the day I took these pictures. As you can tell from the picture I tend to carry a lot of lip products. I love changing my lip color throughout the day!

Memebox Haul ♥ Innisfree Sheet Masks + Summer Mask Bundle

Memebox Haul
Memebox has been selling some amazing sheet mask sets lately. So whilst I was in Mexico I decided to order a couple of sheet mask packs so that they would be waiting for me when I returned home. Let's take a look at what goods I bought!

Memebox Haul
First up, I ordered the Summer Mask Bundle. It's a mystery bundle, so you don't know which masks your are going to get beforehand (you may even get a completely different masks then me). The set costs $18 for 11 sheet masks. Most of the masks that I received were completely new to me, which I prefer because I love testing out new masks from different brands.

Memebox Haul
In my bundle I got two 2-step treatment masks by a brand called Facezine. You apply the ampoule first, wait for it to absorb and then place the sheet mask across your face. I used the Sparkling Water Travel Mask last night and quite enjoyed it!

Memebox Haul
Here are the other 6 masks. I've tried one of the Donkey Milk before (I think it was the whitening one?) and I remember loving the results and the gel texture of the mask. I was really shocked to see a Leaders mask in the bundle, because they're pricey. I look forward to using it because I love Leaders masks!

Memebox Haul
Since I'm trying to build up my sheet mask collection I also picked up the Innisfree mask set (currently not available), I've previously tired these masks and loved them so I bought the set. The masks are moisturizing and also come with a lot of leftover essence to use the following day.

Memebox Haul
I finished my Cosrx One Step Pimple Clear Pads in Mexico so I decided to get another one (review here). I only needed  $1 to get free shipping so I quickly added the E.G.T. Timetox Gel Smile-Line Patch. At the time it was the cheapest thing I could find (Memebox is always adding new things and adjusting prices!). My order also came with a free Botanical Pure Mask Pack in Collagen + Olive.
