NOTD: Mixed Metals

I saw a picture on Butter London twitter a few weeks ago on a manicure that was a mixture of different metallic gold and copper shades. I loved the look so much that I decided to recreate using some of my nail polishes. I loved the way it came out because in some lights it looks like one color but in other lights they all look different!

(left to right) Butter London The Old Bill, Sally Hansen Coat Of Arms, and China Glaze Swing Baby
These are the three nail polishes I used to create this mixed metallic look. I would recommend you to use metallic colors such as gold, copper, and pewter. If you can find metallic nail polishes without shimmer or glitter I would is would use those because I think they look better.

To create this look I applied a different color on each nail and then created a ombre look with a sponge. Let them dry before applying a top coat and you're done!

Review: CoverGirl Bombshell Volume Mascara

So today I will be reviewing Covergirl's newest mascara called the Bombshell Volume. I bought this mascara for my sister last month and I really loved how it made her lashes look so I bought it for myself. This mascara has two sides and two steps, the first step adds volume and the second intensifies your lashes. By using both sides it is suppose to give you mega volume and dark lashes for that bombshell look.

 What it suppose to do:
"Mega volume and dark intensity in one mascara for an over the top bombshell look."

- Adds volume
- Adds a slight curls
- Doesn't flake
- Doesn't smudge
- Makes your lashes look like false eyelashes

- Hard to take off
- It feels like it comes with a little bit of product
- Pricey for a drugstore mascara

My experience:
When I applied the first step of this mascara I noticed that it made my lashes long but when I used the second step I instantly saw that it made my lashes darker and fuller. The wearability of this mascara is pretty good and it doesn't smudge or flake throughout the day either which is great. I have a pretty hard time taking off this mascara sometimes, I definitely think you need a makeup remover (I recommend the Maybelline Clean Express) because a simple makeup wipe just won't cut it. Something I don't like about this mascara is that I think that it doesn't come with a lot of product. I've been using this mascara for about half a month (3 times a week) and I think I'm already running out of the product. Another con is that it's pretty pricey compared to other drugstore mascaras, it cost $15 when I bought it for my sister but I got it for $9 a few weeks later.

Would I recommend this product?
Yes, I think it's a great mascara and gives your incredible looking lashes that almost look like falsies! However it doesn't last that long and cost more then your average drugstore mascara.

You can purchase the Covergirl Bombshell Volume by Lashblast Mascara here

Have you tried this mascara before? Did you like it?

Mini Bath And Body Works Haul

I recently got some goodies from Bath And Body Works so I thought I would share what I got today in this haul. Enjoy!

Pink Vanilla Macaron Gentle Foaming Hand Soap
When I saw that Bath And Body Works had some macaron things I had to get some stuff so I bough this hand soap for my bathroom. It's so cute I don't even want to use it!

Pink Lemonade Pound Cake, Red Velvet, and Raspberry Peach Macaron Mason Jar Candle
I saw that they were having a sale on their mason jar candles for $7 so I bought a few from their new sweet shop collection.

Velvet Sugar Travel Size Fragrance Mist
I really want to find a new scent from Bath And Body Works and this one looked cute so I got the travel size to see if I like it or not.

Have you bought anything from Bath and Body Works recently?

February Wishlist

Feb wishlist
(left to right) Cinnamon Sugared Doughnut Mason Jar Candle, Instant Happy, Raspberry Peach Macaron Mason Jar Candle, Everything Is Going To Be Ok, Velvet Sugar, Pink Vanilla Macaron Gentle Foaming Hand Soap, Silent Siren 31 Wonderland, and Aldo Eau De Parfum Bag

Lately I've been feeling very unmotivated and uninspired and when I feel like that I become sad. However I recently found these books Instant Happy and Everything Is Going To Be Ok and just by previewing these books on Amazon I'm already feeling better. Bath And Body Works has been coming out with some pretty sweet flavors and I may have just placed an order the other day... I've been a fan of Silent Siren since I found their music last year. They recently came out with a new album and after previewing it I knew that I needed it in my life but since they're not that popular here in the US it's going to be super hard and expensive for me to get their album.

Winter Nail Colors

Today I am sharing my favorite winter nail polishes and colors I like to wear during the colder season. I usually either wear really dark blues and purples or light and shimmery nail colors, it really depends on my mood. I have quite a few nail polishes so I picked out my top fave nine polishes that I wear or would wear during winter.

(Left to right) Color Club's Status Update, Zoya's Cynthia, and Color Club's Baldwin Blues
These dark cream blues are both my favorite fall and winter polishes. I tend to wear these during the last couple of weeks of autumn and early winter.

Zoya's Kristen. OPI's I Don't Give A Rotterdam, and Zoya's Normani
These colors are lighter and scream winter to me, especially the OPI one (it's one of my favorite winter nail polishes)! The Zoya nail polish is also a fall to winter transition color I would wear.

Zoya's Gaia, Sally Hansen's White On, and Sephora by OPI's I Need Space
These three are the lightest nail polishes of the bunch. The Zoya nail polish is another one of my favorite winter nail polishes because of the opalescent shimmer that reminds me of icy snow. The other two are neutral nail polishes that I personally think look lovely all year around!

What's your favorite winter nail polish or color?

What I've Been Up Too + Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you guys having an amazing pink heart shaped day! Today posts is on what I've been doing the past couple of days when I wasn't blogging. I hope you guys enjoy!

I crochet this heart garland and put it up on my room to get into that Valentine's day spirit. I really love how it looks in my room so I plan on leaving it up all year.

I got Bravely Default last Friday and have been playing it nonstop! If your a fan of RPGs and Final Fantasy games you will love this game!

Have you checked out my latest beauty haul yet? If not you read it here!

I started reading this book called The Interestings a few weeks ago. I honestly didn't know what it was about but I read it with an open mind. I'm still not finished reading (I'm a pretty slow reader).

Lastly I've been brainstorming some ideas for future blog posts. I like getting inspiration for my blog through magazines especially Japanese ones but they take forever to arrive!

I hope you all have a fantastic Valentine's Day and remember just because you don't have a valentine this year doesn't mean you have to be sad and lonely because you are amazing and don't need a boyfriend or girlfriend to be happy because you can make yourself happy without them! So go out and buy some chocolates and a teddy bear for yourself and have a happy day!

Mini Drugstore Haul

Long time no see! Well it's only been like four days since I haven't posted a blog post but it honestly feels like I haven't posted anything in a month! I wanted to take a couple of more breaks a week this year so that I could give you guys better quality posts but that hasn't gone to well for me because now I can't think of any blog posts ideas! However I have the next two weeks off from work so hopefully I will be able to brainstorm and write up some blog posts for the next few weeks. So if you have any requests let me know!

Anyways onto the main topic of this blog post the mini beauty drugstore haul! These are items I have recently bought from Walmart and Target. Enjoy!

NYC Color High Definition Liquid Eyeliner: I wanted to try a liquid eyeliner with a felt tip and this one was the cheapest one I could find so I got this to try out and hated it!

L'Oreal The Infallible Black Buster Liquid Eyeliner: Since the NYC eyeliner didn't work out I got this one because I heard it's pretty good and well it is!

Check out my beauty battle between these two eyeliners here!

Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer: I needed a new concealer and I've always wanted to this one but I always ended up buying something else from the drugstore but finally I decided to go ahead and get it.

Maybelline Clean Express! Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover: The Maybelline Eye Clean Express facial wipes are some of my favorite wipes out there so I thought I would try out another product from the Clean Express range.

Covergirl Bombshell 2-in-1 Mascara: I bought my younger sister this mascara a few weeks ago and was so intrigued that I decided to pick one up for myself.

Hello Kitty Flat Iron: I found this Hello Kitty flat iron at Target on sale for under $15 so of course I had to get it because I love Hello Kitty! I don't straighten my hair too often but now when I want to I will be ready!

Do you guys want me to review any of these products?

Beauty Battle: NYC vs L'Oreal Liquid Eyeliner

1st Contestant: NYC High Definition Liquid Eyeliner in Extra Black

What it claims to do:
"Intensify your eyes with this ultra fine felt tip liner. Crates a precise line from soft to dramatic in one single stroke. Long wearing formula lasts up to 10 hours. Ultra fine felt tip releases the perfect amount of color for precise, mistake-poor lining. Perfect for the cat-eye effect."

- Cheap
- Small and thin brush

- Comes off easy
- Dries out quickly
- Ink not that dark
- Not a lot of ink comes out
- While applying this on it drags off ink from your eye creating lines through your eyeliner

My Experience:
The first time I used this liner I notice that not much ink comes out of it I tried shaking it to see if more ink came out but that didn't make a difference. When I started putting this on my eyes the ink didn't come out as black as I thought it would and it dried pretty fast too! As I went back to apply more eyeliner in missing areas I noticed that the liner would start to rub off and create lines over the first layer of liner.

2nd Contestant: L'Oreal The Infallible Black Buster Liquid Eyeliner in Black

What it claims to do:
"The jumbo maker tip gives you total control, delivering a smooth, mistake-proof application every time."

- Really black
- Stays on for a long time

- Hard to take off
- Thinker brush
- Costs more

My experience: I heard this eyeliner is one of the best drugstore eyeliners out there so I decided to give it a shot. The first thing I notice was the brush was thicker then the NYC one, which I'm still not sure if I like it or not. The next thing I was that ink actually cam out unlike the NYC eyeliner and the lines come out fine and precise.

You can purchase the L'Oreal The Infallible Black Buster Liquid Eyeliner here

The showdown
Top: L'Oreal The infallible Black Buster Eyeliner
Bottom: NYC High Definition Liquid Eyeliner

Final Round
Left: L'Oreal The infallible Black Buster Eyeliner
Right: NYC High Definition Liquid Eyeliner

Hands down the L'Oreal eyeliner for sure! It's felt tip is precise and the ink comes out unlike the NYC one. It cost double the price of the NYC eyeliner but I think it really worth it.

What's your favorite liquid eyeliner?
