Review: BENTA BERRY G-1 Moisturizing Face Cream

I have so many products that I've tried the past couple of months so expect some reviews the next few weeks. Anyways for today I will be reviewing the G-1 face cream by a new brand to me called BENTA BERRY. I was wondering through the Birchbox website looking for a new moisturizer because mine had ran out I then saw this one and fell in love with the bottle. I read some reviews online about this product but most people either loved it or hated it but I bought in the end anyways.

Size difference

What it claims to do: Regulate skin oil levels, purify skin, reduce breakouts and redness, and leaves skin soft and matte.

After using this product for about a month here were my results. For the first few day it only moisturized my skin and that was about all but after a week or two my skin started to break out with mini red pimples all over my face! However I only got a few pimples and those pimples only got worse the more I used this moisturizer (But no new pimples appeared).

- I liked the smell. It smelled like fresh berries but wasn't strong and it faded after a while.
- Cute packing. The main reason I choose this moisturizer to try out was because of the tube.
- Left my face matte (but not for long).

- Broke me out
- Expensive
- Didn't leave my skin soft.
- Hard to find
- Hard to dissolve into skin
- Very small! I thought it would be the size of my Smooth Moves hair cream but it was like the size of a sample bottle, which makes me wonder how big the Birchbox sample size was.

Overall I hated this product. I wouldn't recommend this because 1. It costs too much, 2. The size is small, and 3. It didn't do anything that it claimed to do, so do not buy this!

You can purchase the BENTA BERRY G-1 moisturizing face cream here.

June 2012 Birchbox

Another month means another Birchbox! I was really excited for this month box because I knew it had something to do with traveling for Summer, and I was right. This month's theme is jet set, the products in this month's box are perfect for traveling on a road trip, plane flight, or wherever else you are going to this Summer. Take a look at the samples I got in my June box down below!

 Box overview

 List of products

COOLA Cucumber Matte Mineral Face SPF 30 Full-size, $36
"An antioxidant-packed facial sunscreen with a fresh scent and a shine-free finish." This sounds amazing I can't wait to try it out. I love the fresh scent of cucumbers so I expect this to smell awesome!

John Varvatos Star USA Full-size, $55-70
"In honor of Father's Day, we've included this dapper cologne, a blend of ginger, juniper berries, and vetiver. Pass it on to a lucky guy friend or family member." I haven't opened this yet because I plan to give this to my dad as a Father's Day treat hopefully he will like it.

 Modcloth Headband Full-size, $14
"Pair this retro-inspired accessory with a big pair of sunnies and a two-seater, Shop all Modcloth road trip beauty essentials at birchbox.com'modcloth." This was my favorite item in my box! I have always wanted one of these old school "bunny" headbands and now I have one thanks to birchbox. I'm planning on buying some these because not only do they keep my hair off my face but they also make me look adorable!

Beautyblender Blendercleanser Full-size, $17.95
"Keep your makeup sponges and brushes in tip-top condition with this soy-based formula." I have heard of the beauty blender sponge before so this must be the cleaner that you are suppose to use if you have one of the sponges but you can also use it on your regular brushes, which is what I plan to do. I don't have any fancy brush cleansers (I normally just use olive oil mixed in with some dish washing soap) so I will try this out and pray that I will get to sample the beauty blender sponge in one of my future boxes.

Jouer Luminzing Moisture Tint Full-size, $38
"This award-winning tinted moisturizer is our daily shortcut to dewy, glowing skin." This kind of remind me of the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizers (Mainly because of the tube). Honestly I've become a big BB cream  fan these past few months so I haven't used a regular foundation or tinted moisturizer in ages! But the good thing is that tinted moisturizers have a similar texture like BB creams so hopefully this tinted moisturizer won't be heavy or clog my pores.

theBalm cosmetics Stainiac in Beauty Queen Full-size, $17
"We're crazy about this two-in-one lip and cheek stain, which delivers a subtle, long wearing flush." When they say "long wearing" they mean it, I swatched a bit of this stain on my hand just so I could see the color and boy did this stuff stay on! No matter how much I washed or rubbed the swatch on my hand didn't even budge! I had to wait until the very next day for the swatch on my hand to magically disappear. So when I tried this on my lips I wasn't that surprised that the color on my lips stayed on all day. The color is also beautiful and very natural looking, I haven't tried this on my cheeks yet but I bet it will also look great. I already love this product and I have only used it for a day, I do plan on purchasing the full size really soon!

Comodynes Self-Tanning Intensive Pack of 8, $14.99
"Get a buildable, natural-looking tan with these bestselling towelettes." These last goodies were another one of my favorite in this box. I have always wanted to try tanning towelettes because I have really pale skin (From lack of sun) and have a bad experience with tanning lotions and sprays, but I still want glowing tan skin. Hopefully these wipes will work for me, I will keep you posted.

Well that's it for my June box. So far this is my favorite Birchbox I have received by far! I was extremely satisfied with every product in this box and plan to use every single one of these and hopefully find some new favorites.

What did you guys get in your June Birchbox?

May Favorites

Today I will be sharing with you guys my favorite beauty products for the month of May. I will be making a separate post on my non-beauty related products tomorrow (Because I had so many non-beauty favorites).

Not Your Mother's Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream: I bought this to use as a leave-in-conditioner and after two uses I fell in love with this stuff! The smell reminds me of an Almond Joy candy bar (One of my favorite candy bars)! It also hydrates my hair and leaves me with some beautiful shiny curls.

Miss Dior Perfume: I love this smell! It smells so good and I get compliments each time I wear this.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat: This top coat is the best and most affordable compared to other top coats out there that dry fast. This stuff dries within minutes which is great if you are impatient like me. Read my full review here!

VICHY Eye Makeup Remover: If you read my past review on some of the VICHY products then you probably know I said that this stuff didn't work at all and didn't remove any makeup. But after using it once more I found out that this isn't as bad as I thought. This stuff is great for getting off any makeup under the eyes when using a q-tip.

Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake: A lovely pink that is great for everyday wear. I've been wearing this across my lips everyday since I've gotten it and love the color it leaves on my lips. Plus the formula is really nice and smooth it literary glides onto my lips!

LUSH Tea Tree Toner Tab: My older sister bought two of the LUSH toner tabs (One being the tea tree toner) and the other day we gave each other facials using the tea tree toner tab. The guy at the LUSH counter said that you can store the liquid afterwards in a container and use as a toner for a couple of days. I haven't used a toner in a while so using this after cleansing my face feels so refreshing and gets rid of any leftover residue.

Zoya nail polish in Kate: This nail polish is part of the Birchbox blogger trio. Kate is my favorite color from the collection, it's a perfect Summertime red not too bright but bright enough that it doesn't look tacky. I especially love the jelly formula in these polishes.

Sarah McNamar Miracle Skin Transformer Body with SPF 20: This was in my latest Birchbox and so far I love it! It's basically a self-tanner that adds a gorgeous glow to your skin. I think I may purchase the full size but it's kind of expensive.

What are some of your current favorite beauty products?

How to: Crochet a heart

Today I'm going to share with you how to crochet a heart. This heart can be used as a coaster, washcloth (if you use cotton yarn), thoughtful gift or anything else. Enjoy!

(I used worsted weight yarn.)

To create the other side of the heart, stick your crochet hook where the beginning of the other dec starts  and crochet down the side of the square. From there, repeat what you did above.

This makes the heart look less weird.

Now you can either stop here or you can block your work. Blocking helps the heart keep it's shape and makes it lie flat.

I block my work by placing a towel over a pillow and sticking pins on the corners of my crochet piece. Then I simply spray water other my work with a spray bottle. Wait a few minutes and then flip over and repeat on the other side.

Wait until your piece is dry and: Tada! Your heart is complete!

Now you can use this heart for whatever your heart desires! I keep one of these next to my night side table and keep my phone or sometimes water on it.
