How to: Crochet a French macaroon

The other day I was looking through my inspiration folder and saw a picture of a tiny French macaroon and then decided to crochet one. Now I am going to show you guys how to crochet your own French macaroon. This is a very quick DIY that you can probably make in minutes!

You will need:

1. Ch 6, sl st into first st to form a loop.
2. DC into each st two times, sl st into first st. Total = 12 sts.
3. DC into one st and sc in one st. repeat 5 times. Total = 18 sts.
4. SC 18 sts. Repeat. Total = 18 sts.
5. Change to white yarn.
6. Sc blo 18 times. Total = 18 sts.
7. Change back to first yarn.

November 2011 Birchbox

I got an email saying that my Birchbox had been shipped yesterday and today I got it! Nice work Birchbox! Anyways this month's box is all about getting gifty! Just in time for the holidays, these products are suppose to help you find gifts to give to your love ones.

This is an overview of what's in my November box.

I was lucky enough to get a bracelet from BaubleBar. Birchbox gave these bracelets out to the first 10,000 of their subscribers who had the most Birchbox points by October 16. You can get Birchbox points by referring friends, giving feedback, and buying products off of Birchbox.

I really like the bracelet it's black and beaded and like my blazing chain bracelet for Jewel Mint it has diamonds on just one bead. I love how simple this bracelet and can't wait to wear it out! Thanks Birchbox :D

The first product I saw was the Oscar Blandi jasmine protein mist. "Celeb stylist Oscar Blandi's secret weapon: this leave-in spray protects, fortifies, and revives damp or dry strands". I've heard of Oscar Blandi's products before and excited to try this spray out. This basically just another heat protectant but you can also use this to detangle your hair with, whhich is great since my hair gets easily tangled.

This next product is a champagne & shimmer body polish by LaROCCA skincare. "Call us indulgent, but we love this glam scrub, featuring 24k colloidal gold". This sounds so cool 24k colloidal gold in a scrub? Yes, please! You massage this into your skin in the shower and it gets rid of dryness. The result? Leaves you with beautiful moisturized skin! Can't wait to try this out!

I was thrilled when I heard that everybody was receiving a Zoya nail polish in this month's box. I got the color Nole, "This shimmery denim shade from Zoya's holiday 2011 collection fits just right - just like your favorite blue jeans". I have actually tried out Zoya polishes and even did a review here , so I was glad that we got a polish from them. At first I thought that it was a full size bottle but it isn't its just a 0.5 fl oz but that's fine with me. I love the color that I got I love blue nail polishes. I will do a separate nail of the day blog post featuring this color next week.

Next thing I got was the Klorane soothing eye makeup remover with cornflower. "Infused with French cornflower extracts, this formula is designed for even the most sensitive eyes". I've been in a search for a good makeup remover so this is great, plus its a pretty decent size.

So this month I saw that they had two different extras flowing around. In some boxes were some cup coasters and in other boxes(including mine) their was the Chuao Chocolatier. "Spicy and sweet, these artisanal dark chocolate treats are laced with chipotle and popping candy". I'm actually happy that I got this extra because when I first heard what was in this candy I was like wow "I have to try it out"! Even though I'm not a fan of dark chocolate or spicy stuff I'm going to try this out and hope that it tastes good. i actually thinking about buying some of these as stocking stuffers because my parent's both really like chocolate and spicy stuff. Well that's one thing off my list. Hehe

I'm very satisfied with this month's Birchbox and also very surprised with the sizes of the products. Can't wait until next month!
